SPOLIARIUM

The painting features a glimpse of Roman history centered on the bloody carnage brought by gladiatorial matches. Spoliarium is a Latin word referring to the basement of the Roman Colosseum where the fallen and dying gladiators are dumped and devoid of their worldly possessions.

Curtains down for Dolphy at 83

Dolphy, or Rodolfo Quizon Sr., passed away Tuesday at 8:34 p.m., at the Makati Medical Center (MMC), thus ending one of the longest and most colorful lives and careers in Philippine show business history. He was 83 and about to turn 84 on July 25.

Eric Quizon, one of Dolphy's sons, gave the following statement to the news media at the MMC at about midnight:

December 16,2010 pinanganak ang bagong dagdag sa aming pamilya, si ZION ZHORDY GUEVARRA.. una kong pamangkin, very cute baby boy.. pero sad to say nagkasakit agad xa pagkapanganak, medyo mahina xa, ngayon dec 25 na st.victoria hospital xa.. dun kme nag xmas celebration kagabi.. malungkot kc sa hospital nag celebrate pero masaa na nakikitang lumalakas na si baby.. sana patuloy na ang pag galing nya at lalong lumakas.. :) please continue to pray for him.. :)

    2 nights ago nung nanalasa ang malakas na ulan ng "basyang".. di ko masyado naramdaman kc nasa loob lng naman ako ng bahay sa laguna.. nagkaroon ng power interruption pero malamig pa din, nasa tabi kc ako ng bintana.. sarap nga ng tulog ko kc ang hangin.. pero habang masarap pala ang tulog ko may mga lugar pala na binaha at mga bahay na nasira.. pag gising ko kinabukasan daming dahon sa tapat, syempre walis walis ng dahon.. pero nung katxt ko na mga ka officemate ko lahat sila binaha.. gr...
